"Who'se there?" asked RayKill, addressing the glowing eyes in she shadows nervously.
      "Oh, I think you know me," said the voice; a sickeningly familiar voice. Raykill's eyes widened as a wolf stepped out of the shadows. She was so similar to Nightrunner that Ray didn't know what to do. However, instead of Night's black and purple frame, this wolf was white and purple. Just like Nightrunner, but reversed. Surely this couldn't be...
      "Yes, it is Nightmare," said Nightmare. She spoke in Nightrunner's soft, beautiful voice, once a comforting sound from a friend, now a sound that sent shivers down Raykill's spine. "Nightrunner put up a good fight, but I have won."
      "No..." whispered Ray. Night couldn't have been beaten by her shadow wolf! She was simply too strong!
      "Raykill, it is time for the Shadow Wolves to come out of hiding," said Nightmare. "We have been controlled by you ray-fury wolves for long enough. Rayin, it is now your time to shine; break away from Raykill's control, and help me restore the rain of Shadows!" Raykill realized that Nightmare was talking to Ray's Shadow Wolf, Rayin.
      Something stirred in Raykill's soul; an evil presence that shouldn't be there. Raykill, your time is up! The voice came from Ray's mind. She looked down at her paws; already, the colors were reversing. "No!" she shouted "This can't be happening!"
        "Oh, but it is," Rayin replied, this time using Raykil's own mouth! "Nightmare and I will bring out the pack's Shadows, and we will rule this territory!" Raykill fought to keep down the rising hatred inside of her soul; a hatred that was not hers.
       "Nightrunner!" Ray shouted. "Don't let Nightmare's hatred overpower you! I know you're stronger than that! Come back to me, come back!" The red in Nightmare's eyes flashed to the purest green -- that of Nightrunner's. The green eyes widened in shock as they realized what had become of their body. The white was changing back to black; Nightrunner's colors were returning to normal.
        "Oh, no you don't!" shouted Rayin, again speaking from Raykill's lips. Ray summoned the energy to fight back one more time. "DON'T TOUCH MY FRIEND, YOU BITCH!" she shouted at Rayin, whi was trying to change Ray's fur color.
        Together, Night and Ray tried to fight off Rayin and Nightmare, who was trying to resurface in Nightrunner's body.
        But who will win?
